Standardization status of electric vehicle cables

To ensure the operation safety of electric vehicles, in response to the challenges and requirements of high-voltage cables for electric vehicle applications, new cable standards must be established to replace the needs of suppliers, wire harness manufacturers, and OEMs.
The International Standardization Organization Road Vehicle Technical Committee Electrical and Electronic Sub-Technical Committee Automotive Cable Working Group (ISO / TC 22 / SC 3 / WG4) is carrying out this work.
It can be seen on ISO 6722 that the general 60 V cable standard has been revised to meet the requirements of 600 V cable. Because most of its requirements are still very common, but often do not consider the special design required for high-voltage cables. ISO14572 has made similar amendments.
At present, the standardization of high-voltage cables with a voltage higher than 600V is one of the working groups... The standard number is ISO 17195.
SAE will adjust the requirements of the current high-voltage (rated 600 V) specification SAE J1654 for high-voltage cables and cover the rated voltage from 600 to 1000 V. The newly created standard SAE J2840 that has not yet been released will be defined as a shielded type of cable.
LV is the common procurement specification of the five major automobile companies in Germany. At present, the LV216 standard for high-voltage cables for electric vehicles with a rated voltage of 600 V has been launched. It covers single-core and multi-core shielded cables.
The current total GB/T25085, GB/T25087 "60-600V Low-Voltage Cables for Road Vehicles" was born out of IS06722, which has been stipulated and required for single-core or multi-core cables with a rated voltage of 60-600V, but for 600V used by new energy vehicles For the above high-voltage cables, there are always standards missing and blank. And the national automobile industry-standard of its high-voltage shielded cable is being formulated, and its rated voltage will reach 1000V.
Due to the rapid development of electric vehicle technology, the application of higher voltages by high-power electric vehicles is running off the manuscript. There is no standard to follow, resulting in a complicated product structure and poor interchangeability.
